Blind Text

Black Hills Underground — Catalog & Archive

Blind Text is an independent music label and artist operation based in the Black Hills of South Dakota — self-distributed, suit-free, and running as a direct continuation of the regional punk underground. All releases go through the Blind Text Albums / DistroKid pipeline.

About Blind Text

Blind Text is not a company. It is an operation. It runs on the same logic as the underground scene it comes from: put the work out, own the output, answer to no one in a suit. The name is both literal and deliberate — text that doesn't ask to be read, that serves its function without explanation.

The catalog is built by Adam Ian Stratmeyer and the associated acts that share roots, geography, or both. Distribution goes through Blind Text Albums via DistroKid, which means the standard aggregator pipeline: Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, Boomplay, Tidal, and the rest. Some platforms populate faster than others. If a node shows empty, it fills — check back or use the YouTube channel while it catches up.

The Roster

Adam Ian Stratmeyer — principal artist. "Subscription" (11 tracks, JioSaavn, 2025) is the anchor release. See the catalog index for all verified links.

DIVVY up the PANIC — self-titled LP and "That Jazz," both on Apple Music. Rock music with no apology for being rock music.

Strata-Thunder — the heavy output arm. Apple Music + YouTube. High-voltage, no committee.

Sugar and Grains Mash Band — punk-bluegrass mash, co-written with Jason Kimmer. Primarily YouTube distribution at this stage. Same soil, different instrument.

Distribution Notes

All Blind Text material routes through DistroKid. Propagation times vary by platform. Known current gaps: Boomplay profile is live but empty — distributor push in progress. YouTube Music hashtag search for #ammoniumnitrate returning nothing useful — tracks not indexed there yet. These are known and owned. They fill over time.

If a universal smart link exists per release, it will be added to the catalog index as it becomes available. That page is the canonical reference for all streaming nodes.

Heritage

The ground this runs on is documented at the Rapid City Punk Rock Archive: band registries, KTEQ radio recordings from '89–'91, flyers, VHS dumps. Not nostalgia — pedigree. The archive is a proper MediaWiki instance run by people who were there.
